I think the problem with Peter acting out so strongly hangs on the fact that they didn't establish his relationship with Gamora enough. They were flirty for two movies and then she said that she loved him in this one so there's a strong implication of a romantic relationship, but how deep was it if they were hiding it from their teammates? I felt similarly to the Vision/Wanda relationship. Cool they're dating but so what? Is it a hookup? Deep commitment of soul-mates? We're expected to jump to that conclusion though it's unearned. It's not like either couple was married, had kids, or any significant history. On the other hand, we got nothing about Bruce and Natasha which was the relationship that probably shouldn't have happened but clearly did.
